wounds take time to heal :)$BlogItemTitle$>
i was awaken by the itch of my wound at about 4 in the morning. that itch was the most unbearable itch that i ever recalled and i knew that i couldn't scratch it as i had to let the wound heal. and the second reason why i was unable to scratch it as i had a big fat plaster on to cover my wound. so, the plaster saved the day. :) neverthess, i had difficulty getting back the sleep as i battled with the fight of the itch. and without me realising, i was back to dreamland once again.
during those disturbed woken moments, these few impressions came to mind:
"like a wound, e healing of our lives take time & might cause discomfort along e way. don't "dig" upon it as it might leave a deeper scar"
i believe each of us have encountered hurts and some probably have left a scar behind in our lives. and like a wound, it takes time to heal. but if we keep scratching the wound that is about to heal, it is never going to heal and might even become callous eventually.
just to sidetrack a little - is it just us or has culture really moulded us the way we are? is it in our culture or is it just us that we may not be that expressive to express our love and conern to the people around us? and when we attempt to be expressive to show our genuine care and concern, will people say that we're just so fake and are following other cultures. "don't poke your nose into other people's business" or "don't hang your dirty linen in public" they might say.
culture. how did it come about? is it man-made? what then defines us? does it mean that just because things have been going this way, therefore i must behave that way and must conform to that culture?
you know what? i just want to be in the Jesus culture:
"You [He] are [is] the way the truth and the light"
